Changing Rooms is not just a clever play on words, it’s frighteningly accurate! It’s not an overstatement to say training with Vinny changed my life because that’s exactly what happened.
My sleep apnoea specialist first suggested I get a personal trainer or nutritionist about a year ago. I always liked that idea but being on a relatively low salary I thought that I’d never be able to afford it. Soon enough it became clear that the only thing I couldn’t afford was to continue on the path I was going, severely overweight, having to sleep with CPAP machine just to be able to keep breathing normally while sleeping, depressed, frustrated and angry at myself to have gotten to this state when I was pretty fit throughout my 20’s and most of my 30’s.
I finally decided to look for a personal trainer in Summer 2018. A quick google search for a trainer in Dublin 2 later and I was pretty much convinced Vinny was the PT I needed, he came up on top of the search results (always a good sign), he was incredibly fit himself (I simply cannot trust a personal trainer who’s unfit!), he seemed to know an awful lot about nutrition (an essential part of weight loss), had great feedback from clients and I particularly liked the idea of photographing every meal and send it over WhatsApp to keep track of your food choices. This is almost like 24/7 coaching which few PTs, if any, offer!
I started training with Vinny in early June 2018, I started losing weight pretty much immediately since I went on a low-carb diet even before our first proper session, it’s incredibly rewarding to see results so fast and, most importantly, getting these results while still enjoying your food, without calorie counting or any of that nonsense. Training was of course a pleasure, not to say it was easy but when you train with Vinny he’s 100% focused on your workout and checking and correcting every move to make sure you get benefit as much as possible.
Since I started I have lost at least 21 kilos of body fat but feel about 40 kilos lighter! My sleep apnoea is much less severe and I may even not need a machine very soon. My mood has improved immensely, I’m happier and more productive at work and pretty much anywhere else. My clothes fit again and I’ve had to buy a few pairs of jeans which quickly become too big for me.
Honestly, you may think a PT is a luxury, and if all you want is to lose a few pounds and look better in a swimsuit or shorts than maybe it is, but if you’re at the point it’s affecting your happiness and health, then a personal trainer is by far the best and most cost effective way to get fitter and happier again.
Remember, obesity kills, diabetes kills and so does cancer. All of these can be caused by being severely overweight. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to not let this happen to you!
I can say without a doubt that he is among the very best PTs in Ireland today, it’s not even that I’ve known many but can’t see how they could do much better than this.
